Time for Abs!
One of my favorite ab exercises is, high knees with a twist. I got this exercise from doing INSANITY. This is a great workout to do without have to get on the ground and do those dreading crunches. It's also a great cardio exervise as well. I did not feel like getting a workout in today, but I pused myself to do it and get it done. That's something that I've learned with doing INSANITY. There will be many days where you don't feel like getting up to work out, or you come home from work and just feel like relaxing. We all feel like this but it's up to you to be dedicated and do they work to get the results you want, it's that simple. To peform these you alternate your knees above your hips. Keeps your arms up and twist. This helps get the lower abdominals as well. If you havent tried Insanity and really want to get in shape then I suggest you do it. You can incoporate so many different exercises in your workouts.

Insanity Upper Body Weight Training.
Today was another day of Insanitys' upper body weight training. This is such a great workout because not only are you using weights but you're also getting the great cardio interval training the Insanity does so well. You have4 different circuits in which you have 3-4 sets that you do back to back, you then rest for 30 secs to a minute and a half and go at it again! This is a weight lifting workout that will have you sweating like you never have in your life. Doing this 3 times a week with a mix of Foucs-T25 is a great routine. I will be doing body beat in a couple of weeks so I will be posting more updates on that in the upcoming weeks.

Not all salt is created equal....
Uploaded with ImageShack.com
Most people think of salt to be a bad thing. You read about how salt isn't good for you and how it causes health problems. This is true, but this statistic is geared towards table salt, which is the most commonly used source of salt. Most table salt is comprised of 1/3 salt, 1/3 sand and 1/3 glass. When you eat salt the sand and glass scratches the arteries causing them to bleed, which then the cholesterol goes there to stop you from bleeding internally. So doctors talk about having high blood pressure is linked to salt and cholesterol. The truth is the body needs salt to function. Salt is the electricity for the body, you just need the right salt to consume. Salt with high mineral value such as sea salt, or Himalayan salt. Himalayan pink is very mineral dense and give a lot of benefits to the human body such as.
- Sharpens vital brain functions, improves mental clarity
- Anti-aging; rids the body of acidic wastes that cause degeneration
- Peaceful, relaxed quality of energy, better moods, positive thoughts
- Ease cramps, constipation, digestive disorders
- Regulates and purifies critical body fluid levels
- Purifying, detoxifying to the blood
- Stronger libido, sexual vitality, more vigor
- Essential minerals replenishes vital electrolytes
- Nutrients are absorbed more efficiently by the body.
- Foods cooked with HimalaSalt taste better, and their nutrients are absorbed better by the body.
You can also use Himalayan salt blocks(Pictured above) to cook your meats and vegetables on over a grill or BBQ. This give the food the salt and flavor that it needs all while being a healthy, beneficial alternative to table salt.

A week in with Focus-T25
So I completed my first week of Focus-T25 today and I must say it's different then I expected. Month 1 is called Alpha, which builds your foundation and prepares you for month 2 which is called Beta. After just completing INSANITY and a few weeks doing the upper weight lifting workout that came with INSANITY, I have to say that while Focus-T25 makes you sweat in those 25 minutes, I don't feel as "accomplished" as I did with Insanity. This isn't to say that T25 isn't a good workout because it is. It's a bit unfair to compre the crazy, insane, I want to die while working out program that is Insanity.
One of the difference in T25 is some of the moves have a certain rhythm to them. So if you don't have rhythm, certain exercises can be seem a little akward to get down. I will say that when you do the exercises, they seem to focus more on specific muscle groups ( hence the name Focus-T25). I have noticed the soreness in my glutes which have been missin since I completed Insanity, as well as my legs. I'm looking forward to more time with it to see how my muscles respond. I've heard as you keep going you start to feel it more in those targeted muscles. The biggest attraction to T25 is, it's 25 minutes. Anyone can find time to squeeze in this non-stop 25 minute workout. I will update more on Focus-T25 in the coming weeks as I head into month 2.
But..But...I don't have time to workout..
One of the main excuses for people not to workout is time. The fact is we're all busy. We all have 24hrs in a day. It's up to YOU to manage your time and make sure you get your workout in. If you want a better body, if you want better health. Then you need to take action and do what is necessary to get there!

Don't be fooled..
Uploaded with ImageShack.com
It's really funny to me what people consider as a "healthy option". I work in a healthcare clinic where the doctors and nurses are supposed to be advocates of living a healthy lifestyle. They see sick patients all day, a lot of them being over weight and suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol etc. Yet, we have snacks like this in our breakroom everyday, most are from what doctors bring.
To get to my point, I over heard a nurse talking about how they got some "healthy snacks". So when I went to the break room, this is what I saw. People actually see "Veggie Chips" and automatically asume it's healthy. The food inudustry will market these as "healthy options" when in reality these are still chips. They will not help you achieve your fitness, weight goals. Make smarter choices and don't be fooled by this type of marketing. You want veggies?,then eat REAL veggies.
My Insanity workout!
Insanity is a 60 day "HIIT"(High Intensity Interval Training) by fitness expert Shaun T. The workout broken down in by 2 months. Month one is body conditioning that prepares you for month 2. Both offer similar exercises but month 2 dose focus a little more on upper body strength and the workouts are longer ( avg 40min month 1 and 55min month 2) and more intense. You workout 6 days a week with Sunday being your only rest day ( Yeah sounds miserable, it can be, but totally worth it).You don't need any weights for this program as you use your body to get in the best shape of your life.
Before starting the workout you do a 'Fit Test'. You have 8 different exercises to perform and 1 minute each to complete them. Your goal is to get as many reps as possible within that minute. You repeat this 'Fit Test' every 2 weeks to track your progress. I've always been what I considered to be "fit" until I started Insanity. The fit test alone had me sweating more than I ever have in my life and the workouts to follow were even more intense.

If you're serious about getting in shape and really pushing yourself ( which is what INSANITY makes you do) than you should definitley consider this workout program. You can order directly from HERE. The one thing that I regret not doing was using the Results and Recovery Formula which helps restore your body during these intense workouts. I did experience a lot of body fatigued, but I kept pushing through and completed it. Now I restore my body after workouts and it makes a big difference when trying to recover and dig deeper each time.

Coach Wiggins

My job as a beachbody coach is simple. Help people get in the best shape of their lives and improve their overall health. I do this by getting to know what your goals are. I want to know what your eating habits are like, what you like or don't like about working out and what is your falling off point( your weakness). I then recommend the best workout program for your needs. I hold you accountable for these workouts via email, calls, text, Skype, whatever it takes. I will also be holding challenge groups on Facebook where there will be required check in posts with questions to answer and rules to follow. I'm proof that these workouts work, I'm a product of the Product. Please contact me with any questions you have you can also sign up and put me as your coach for free before you decide to commit to a program.

I'm a BeachBody Coach that is offering his support to motivate and guide people who want only want to get in the best shape of their lives but also be the healthiest they can be.
Eating Out?? Make Smart Choices
One of the biggest challenge when eating clean comes when you're going out to eat. It's very tempting to order the chocolate chip pancakes, on the fresh baked cinnamon roll ( which is okay once in a while). The truth is you can pretty much find a healthy option at any restaurant you go to, unless you're eating at McDonalds ( which I recommend staying away for various reasons). I have to admit that I eat out way more than I should. Probably 4-5 times a week we're eating out for breakfast, lunch and dinner. When I started to really take my nutrition seriously we stopped going out to eat and to be honest, I was miserable. The main reason was because I always felt like I could never go out because I wouldn't be able to find anything to eat. Once I realized that I can just get the healthier options it just became something that natural and made going out to eat much more doable then before. Here's a breakfast that I ordered from one of our favorite places.
